About Me
Based in Boston for the past decade, I am a performer, educator, and music manager. As a saxophonist and woodwind doubler (saxes, flutes, clarinets, oboe, bassoon), I perform across genres, including classical, jazz, improvisation, avant-garde, musical theatre, and rock/pop. My experience includes solos in Jordan Hall, woodwind doubling with the American Repertory Theater, wedding gigs in Newport, RI to Portland, ME, and experimental projects at the Cambridge Science Festival.
As a concert saxophonist with my saxophone quartet (JP Sax Quartet), and as a chamber, solo and orchestral musician. I’ve appeared with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), ALEA III, Lowell Chamber Orchestra, Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra, the Navy Band East, Megalopolis Saxophone Orchestra, and the Masterworks Festival Orchestra. An advocate for new music, I’ve premiered works by Stratis Minakakis, Charles Shadle, Lavell Blackwell, Ian Wiese, and Tianfang Jia and have collaborated with composers Gunther Schuller, Pauline Oliveros, Robert Honstein, Pamela Madsen, and Jeremy Van Buskirk, among others.
As a woodwind doubler, I’ve held stints at the American Repertory Theater, Wheelock Family Theater, Company Theatre in Norwell, Arlington Friends of the Drama, Boston Children’s Museum, and Dedham Parish Players, among countless regional and youth theater productions.
